Content Executive
The Company
Common Ground is an established digital marketing agency looking for an ambitious Content Manager to build a career in our team. This is a fully remote role, but that doesn’t mean you won’t feel part of the team. As a 10-15-person agency, we are looking for someone who shares our values, cares about clients, likes to get involved in decisions and agency life, gets to know the people they work with and is looking to build a career in a supportive environment.
The Job
The Content Executive will use our existing processes and manage a pool of freelance talent to create high-quality content for our clients (mainly written at the moment). This role requires someone with exceptional organisational skills, excellent levels of written English, a keen eye for detail, and a passion for content creation.

Responsibilities
- Content Creation and Management:
- Use our established processes to oversee the creation of high-quality content, including blog posts, articles, website copy, social media posts, newsletters, and more.
- Manage a team of freelance writers and editors, providing guidance, feedback, and support to ensure content meets our standards.
- Edit and proofread content to ensure accuracy, consistency, and adherence to brand voice and style guidelines. This would be achieved either by using an editor or by yourself depending on availability.
- Work effectively with other teams to facilitate scheduling.
- Freelancer Management:
- Recruit, onboard, and train freelance content creators and editors, maintaining a pool of talent across sectors to call upon.
- Assign projects to freelance writers/editors, monitor progress, and ensure deadlines are met.
- Evaluate and manage the performance of freelance writers, providing constructive feedback and fostering a collaborative work environment.
- Team & Project Finance:
- Ensure you meet project cost/profitability levels.
- Ensure all internal and external client time and costs are tracked accurately.
- Ensure all invoices are submitted promptly each month.
The Person
- A degree in Marketing, English, Journalism, or a related field.
- Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
- Experience managing freelance writers or remote teams.
- Strong project management and organisational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Someone who wants to be social.
- Happy to work from home.
- Willing to commute for meet-ups when required.
Preferred Skills:
- 6-12 months experience as a Content Coordinator, Content Strategist, or similar role.
- A solid understanding of digital marketing, SEO, and content best practices.
- Knowledge of social media marketing and strategy.
- Experience in a digital marketing agency environment.

The Package
- £22,000 – £25,000 salary
- 100% remote (with the exception of one meetup a quarter)
